The Enough Equation

“I made a formula to help with cultivating a Conscious Wealth Mindset. I call it my Enough Equation. “Enough” is my current financial assets and their growth, minus what I spend and will spend, plus my confidence to face adversity in the future, divided by my Money Memory.

The Answer

Processing my financial life through the Enough Equation, I know I have enough. I just feel in my bones I have enough now. I believe in myself. I will find money in the future if everything goes away - I have more than my past-self ever thought he’d have. And I can scale back my expenses pretty quickly if needed.

If you do the equation and reach the same conclusion, I recommend you go open a window and scream “Hell yeah! I don’t need to worry about money!”

I get it…just typing this sounds weird, a bit braggy, and in poor taste. It’s not like I go around telling everybody I meet “I have enough!” I’m not ashamed of it, it’s just they would not understand. What I am really saying is that I spend and will spend less than I have or will have and, if it all goes to hell, I have the confidence and the Money Memory to support my new reality.  And if that is true, I have enough!!!

This is great news, because I have bigger fish to fry than money. I want to be part of something special and meaningful. I want my life to count for something. Nobody else can define this for me - nor can they take it away. Cars, boats, houses, they can disappear overnight.  Even if they don’t disappear overnight, they could slowly lose their flavor until they become meaningless possession.

My Enough Equation’s bottom line is really about abundance and fulfillment.

Scarcity of money is only a reality when I don’t believe in myself. But I do believe in myself, and I know I don’t need material things to be happy. I enjoy them and find ways to have and things I want, but I don’t let them put too much pressure on the rest of my equation. I believe that whatever comes my way, I will always be able to make enough money to thrive. Even if my financial plan does not work out and for some reason I am working until I’m seventy-five, I believe that is for a good reason. I will probably find joy and meaning in that work and will be happy that I can still contribute.

Abundance is my reality. I don’t need to hoard. I don’t need to be stressed. I don’t need to see other people’s success as a threat to mine. I have Conscious Wealth mindset, which means not only do I have enough, I am enough."
